Bodean’s BBQ in Soho delivers bold, American-style barbecue from the heart of London’s most iconic neighbourhood. Situated on Poland Street, just moments from Oxford Circus, Carnaby Street and Tottenham Court Road, this central spot is ideal for fuelling up before exploring the shops, catching a show or heading out for the evening.
As the original Bodean’s site, this branch has been serving up signature smokehouse dishes since 2002. The menu, created in partnership with butcher and chef Richard H. Turner, stays true to classic BBQ traditions, offering low-and-slow smoked meats cooked on-site for deep, smoky flavour.
Begin with snacks like mushroom frickles, BBQ buns filled with pulled pork or brisket, or smoked fried wings. Larger plates include 14-hour brisket, burnt ends, hot link sausage, smoked turkey and grilled rump, served alongside comfort food classics such as mac and five cheeses, vinegar slaw, BBQ beans, crispy potatoes and Carolina poutine.
Burgers and buns range from classic cheeseburgers to the Carolina pulled pork and smoked brisket options. Baby back ribs are available as half or full racks, and there are a handful of lighter plates too, including Boston lettuce and chopped salads. A children’s menu offers smaller portions of house favourites, while desserts include chocolate brownies, banana splits, sticky toffee pudding and white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. Drinks span milkshakes, soft options, beers, bourbon and cocktails.
Inside, the Soho restaurant strikes a darker, moodier tone than some of its sister sites, with deep red ceilings, black leather booths and dark wood flooring. Bull skulls, vintage American artwork and industrial lighting create a characterful, slightly gritty atmosphere. Outside, the recognisable black frontage with Bodean’s pig signage and neon lights marks this long-standing favourite out as a true smokehouse original.
