Best restaurants and bars at The Shard

Since its arrival onto the London scene in 2013, The Shard’s fleet of restaurants and bars have become must-visit destinations for tourists and locals alike. Restaurants at The Shard are quite literally sitting at the pinnacle of London dining, not simply because they boast uninterrupted views of the foodie capital, but because you can enjoy food and drink that's heavenly in its own right. While a room at the Shard Hotel Shangri-La won’t suit everyone’s budget, dinner in the best restaurants at The Shard can offer a taste of the high life you're unlikely to forget.

Updated on 04 April 2024

Designed by Italian architect Renzo Piano, The Shard stands 1016 feet tall just minutes from London Bridge Station. It has become such a recognisable example of modern architecture that it’s nearly impossible to imagine the city without it. The building houses office space, a viewing platform, the five-star Shangri-La hotel, and a choice of restaurants and bars spread across different levels of the 72-floor building. The lowest finds its home on the ground floor, and the highest sits 52 floors above the capital’s streets.

Although The Shard restaurants are best known as spots for birthday dinners or impressive date spots, you can also enjoy a sunrise breakfast, or later in the day head up to indulge in a leisurely afternoon tea. Come the weekend, The Shard comes alive for decadent multi-course bottomless brunches and some Shard restaurants even offer live music and entertainment. From occasion dinners to cocktails and pizza, we’ve rounded up the best restaurants in The Shard to enjoy good food and drink with views over London.
