Bar Kroketa Broadgate brings Spanish bar culture to the City, building its menu around one core idea: the croqueta. As the brand’s third and largest site, the Broadgate location marks a step up in scale, but keeps the same casual, fast-moving approach that defined its original Soho opening.
Set just behind Liverpool Street station, the restaurant sits within Broadgate Circle, a part of the City that buzzes from day to night, particularly in the evening for post-work drinks for which Bar Kroketa is ideal. Step inside and there’s ample seating (more than previous sites), while outside, a terrace looks onto the square, making it a practical option for drinks that turn into dinner.
While the menu offers up a selection of tasty small plates, croquetas remain the beating heart. You'll find a regularly changing list of varieties on the blackboard, keeping the offering flexible and tied to both traditional recipes and more contemporary interpretations. Alongside the croquetas, there’s a selection of tapas-style dishes designed to be ordered in rounds rather than courses. Think the likes of anchovy gildas, hake with spring greens and romesco, alongside classics such as patatas bravas and padron peppers. From 8am until 12 noon, you’ll be able to indulge in a Spanish style breakfast menu.
Drinks follow the same thinking. Vermút, sidra and other traditional aperitifs sit alongside cocktails and a wine list that includes single-estate bottles from what the team refers to as the “krok cellar.” The result is a drinks menu that balances familiarity with a few less obvious options, suited to both quick stops and longer evenings.
What sets the Broadgate site apart is its scale and programming. The larger footprint allows for a more flexible use of space, from casual drinks to bigger get-togethers. It also hosts a weekly bottomless brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, built around unlimited croquetas, tapas and drinks options like Agua de Valencia, Aperol Spritz and Cava, which is the perfect tonic to enjoy with pals after a long working week.
