Asia vs English - battle of the Afternoon Tea

by   (2)

Jun 2017

Visited for afternoon tea in a group of 4 on a sunny day, obviously the views are fantastic which is a given at this venue but having tried many of the afternoon tea offerings available in the capital - we were all very impressed with Ting and I would personally rate it in my top 3. I have a thing for tiny pastries clearly and am always looking for something a bit new to try! Ting has two afternoon tea options - the traditional English or the Asian inspired. We were advised to opt for one each...

Lunch with a view

by   (3)

Dec 2016

Visited for lunch with 3 friends. Was given a table by the window which gave us fantastic views across London from the 35th floor of the Shard. Food was excellent, with a brilliant take on the traditional Christmas dinner. Service was impeccable. Food prices were what you would expect for this type of restaurant although the wines & drinks were slightly more expensive than elsewhere. Only weakness was the total absence of any atmosphere, since the restaurant was less than 50% full, which was...

Nice views, but lacked life

by   (2)

Jun 2016

We were celebrating my fiancée's birthday, we decided to go Ting for dinner. Arrived early we were sent to the bar, which in my opinion is a much better venue than the actual restaurant. It was lively, music and light buzz was going on. Then we went to the restaurant for the dinner, it was quiet and, lifeless.According to my fiancée, the best views were from the Men's toilets. All in all it was a nice restaurant to visit once!

Around the World in 80 Pairs of Shoes :: Afternoon Tea at The Shangri-La London at The Shard

With the opening of London’s newest luxury hotel comes London’s newest and highest Afternoon Tea at The Shangri-La London located inside The Shard. The Afternoon Tea is served on the 35th floor so this is most definitely the highest Afternoon Tea you will experience in London.

My gluten free sandwiches were slightly different to normal, I do like a change however unfortunately the fillings weren’t for the better. I think I possibly received a vegetarian gluten free option however the waitress did tell me that the fillings were mushroom, chicken and anchovies however the only one she got right was the mushroom!...

Samphire and Salsify :: Ting, The Shard | Samphire and Salsify

Ting is the restaurant inside the Shangri-La hotel on the 35th floor of The Shard. There’s two options when booking; the more casual lounge or the fine dining restaurant and as we were after more of a special occasion feel for my parents, we opted for the latter.

We were seated at a large table in the middle of the long dining room. It felt a bit like a cruise ship and with very little view, we could have been anywhere really. The chairs were huge and impossible to move, meaning there was a Grand Canyon-esque gap between me and the table. It was the sort of chair you’d put your Granny in to have a nap – it...

A couple of months ago, I had the immense pleasure of lunching at the Shard.
The Shard offers up a multitude of dining experience: the Aqua Shard, the Oblix, the Hutong, the Lang, the Ting and the Gong. Ting is one of the restaurants inside the Shangri-La Hotel.
Located 128m above ground on the 35th floor of the Shard, it offers some of the most extraordinary views across London, St Pauls Cathedral, the Tower, the Tower Bridge and Canary Wharf.
