SquareMeal Review of The Exhibition Rooms

‘The food is always faultless’ enthuses one visitor for whom The Exhibition Rooms has become a local favourite. With windows on two sides, the high-ceilinged dining room has an airy feel. Glass chandeliers & pot plants add Victorian elegance to the otherwise relaxed space. The modern British menu is updated seasonally. Cornish crab might be given the exotic treatment with a salad of green papaya, mango & coriander, while shoulder & cutlet of Herdwick lamb is gently braised & served with parsnip purée & fondant potatoes. Set menus at lunchtime & early evening entice locals, as do promotional nights on Monday & Tuesday where mussels or steak with a glass of wine cost around £12. The downstairs bar, complete with sexy zebra-lined ‘cave’ & sheltered terrace, draws the trendy crowd.

Time and time again I am never let down with quality and the goodness of the food at the Exhibition rooms. A true gem in the heart of Crystal palace. Whether it's the venison, pork belly or the much loved steak Tuesdays it is always cooked to mouthwatering perfection I love this place!

Jesus!! How is this guys still in business!! Tuesday stake night … at 11.95£ and a drink! it is sounds great but not the taste! where in the world you can get best quality meat at 11.95£ + Drink! Maths not working here! I beat meat is outdated. If you ask to cook it medium, you will get well done! If you ask rare, you will get well done! Only for the reason as they want to hide freshness of the meat! On top of this, meat will be camouflaged with pepper so you will never have a taste of meat. Will never go back to this place again! Shame as it was a great addition to the palace when it opens first!
