SquareMeal Review of
The Dining Room at Cotswold House Hotel
Luxe meets rustic-chic at Cotswold House – not only in the hotel’s interiors, but also in the flagship Dining Room with its sophisticated trappings and elegant arched French windows. The kitchen
offers a telling mix of Anglo-European dishes with a seasonal edge – from ham hock with black pudding and Granny Smith apple to pan-fried scallops with peas, broad beans, lettuce and brown shrimps.
To follow, roast venison might appear with cranberry, roasted chicory and chocolate, while fish could feature sesame-crusted sea bass with spinach and beurre blanc. If sweetness is required, look
no further than the Cotswold House chocolate orange or the kitchen’s surprising take on apple pie. Service is efficient and charming, while views over a cobbled courtyard and leafy grounds add to
the pleasure of eating here. A spot-on wine list does full justice to the food. Simpler meals are also available in the all-day Cotswold Grill.
