Rosso is an Italian bar and restaurant located at 43 Spring Gardens, Manchester. This modern and inviting restaurant boasts a lavish cream interior within its restored Grade II listed building. The menu is inspired by traditional cooking from Southern Italy, welcoming its guests for lunches, antipasto, cocktails and dinner.
If you’re visiting Rosso for dinner perhaps you will peruse the menu with an aperitif and some classic bruschetta toped with tomato, fresh basil and sea salt, or the hand stretched focaccia served with prosciutto and truffle burrata. Starters include dishes such as the crostini con aragosta which is a lobster dish made with basil and chillies, or the polpo grigliato picante which is a chicken liver pate served with griddled sour dough and pickled cherries.
Main courses feature a good selection of pasta, risotto and pizza. Perhaps you’ll go for the classic carbonara, or the ravioli filled with truffle and ricotta mousse. If you’re dining with younger guests you may appreciate the classic Bolognese, or the margherita pizza made with San Marzano tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese.
There is also a selection of fish on the menu, plus a grill serving dry aged ribeye and prime beef fillet. If you’re looking for a lighter dish there are plenty of salads on the menu, plus side dishes such as roasted carrots served with crispy chicken skin, mixed vegetables and cauliflower cheese.
Rosso serves a separate Sunday lunch menu which includes three courses for £25.00. The Sunday lunch menu features a roasted monkfish with saffron white bean puree, and a slow cooked lamb shank served with Yorkshire pudding and a rich lamb and rosemary gravy. If you’re looking for vegetarian dishes you will find a lentil and bean roast with cauliflower and Yorkshire pudding.
