SquareMeal Review of
La Trattoria by Alfredo Russo
This all-day Italian is housed in the Pelham Hotel, which is well placed for Harrods and the boutiques of Brompton Cross, making it ideal for a post-shopping pit stop. The country-home-meets-townhouse interiors include brown leather chairs and vintages books lining the walls. The traditional and simple Italian menu is designed for sharing, and features small plates including rigatoni pasta with pork cheek in tomato sauce, and chickpea and rosemary soup. Come mains, there are hearty dishes such as pan-fried sea bream, with sides of olive oil mash potatoes and roasted red onions. Classic Italian desserts include tiramisu and panna cotta, while the wine list covers the rest of Europe, as well as including some top-drawer Champagnes.
