SquareMeal Review of Eco

In a neighbourhood overflowing with pizza/pasta joints, Eco has carved out its own niche – thanks largely to its family owners (it’s run by a father & daughter team). The interior makes an impact: the wave-like ceiling, surprisingly comfortable birch banquettes, copper pipe lighting & chill-out music create a stunning, talking-point backdrop. & the good looks extend to the pizzas – thin-crusted goats’ cheese & chive with slices of fresh tomato is an attractive prospect – though there’s plenty else to tempt. Antipasti, salads & pasta (mounds of seafood in white wine & garlic swirled through spaghetti with homemade bread to mop up the sticky juices, say) win many fans, as does gluten-free pasta for those with more restrictive diets. All wines are under £20.
