About

Located just off of the main parade and only a couple of minutes from both Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, as well as Brighton Palace Pier, Cote Brasserie seeks to bring a collection of both traditional and contemporary French meals to high street diners.

Cote Brasserie’s a la carte menu offers meals that evoke a warm, hearty sense of France - witness the Beef Bourgeoisie that is slow cooked for six hours prior to serving as well as tuna nicoise named after the city of Nice. The spirit of France is right at the heart of Cote Brasserie Brighton and is shown through its signature meals. However, contemporary dining is also abundant on Cote Brasserie’s menu, with particular emphasis on plant-based options for vegetarians and vegans alike. The celeriac frites seek to reinvent the classic steak frites for modern foodies along with chickpea tabbouleh giving a lighter, creamier alternative for a main course.

Cote Brasserie Brighton also offers a range of alcoholic beverages, perfect for any celebratory occasion. Peruse the collection of luxurious Champagnes such as Bollinger, as well as sweet, crisp red wine such as Lagarde Blanc 2019. For something more modest, Cote Brasserie offers Meteor Beer, made in one of the last independent breweries in France.

Cote Brasserie also offers a range of desserts, perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. For something extravagant, praline crepes or smooth chocolate fondant are available. Less lavish options meanwhile include ‘Mess Aux Fruites Rouges’: frozen berries garnished with an optional hot white chocolate sauce. Cote Brasserie Brighton also has a plethora of drinks for after dinner, including dessert wines and ports. Perfect to complement a dessert with.

Cote Brasserie Brighton embodies France, with a range of both hearty classic French cuisine as well as more contemporary dishes, making it a good shout for casual dates or catch ups with friends.

Excellent meal in a beautiful setting

We had an excellent meal at Cote for Mother's Day and tried the special set menu. The food was very tasty and the service was outstanding. The restaurant is set in a beautiful historic building, which makes for a pleasant atmosphere.

One Of My Favourite 'Go To' Restaurants In Brighton

Cote Brasserie is one of my favourite 'Go To' restaurants in Brighton and rarely disappoints.

It's a perfectly located venue for lunch in town (near to the Royal Pavilion and central shopping area) or a pre/post 'Evening Out' meal (very close to the Dome and Theatre Royal), the main dining room is a lovely, very attractive space and there is also additonal - very pleasant - seating upstairs, downstairs and outside.

They have a nice selection of food (with *some* vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options) and drink (altho their non-alcoholic - as opposed to 'soft' - drink menu could do with a bit of expansion) and their Prix Fixe menu, available Monday-Friday, offers a good range of dishes at a reasonable price (2 courses: £16.95 / 3 courses: £20.95). My only minor quibble would be that if you want vegetables (other than potatoes) you have to order them as an additional side dish (hence only 4.5 stars for value for money) but this appears to be quite a common practice in restaurants these days..!

In my experience, the staff are charm personified and the service is generally excellent; it can be a little slow if the restaurant is busy but if you tell them that you are on limited time they will do their best to accomodate you.

All in all, I highly recommend.

Unacceptable

Overall disappointed that on such a small menu so many items unavailable. No sharing steaks, no fillet steak one of the chicken dishes, some wines out. Feel quite unacceptable really when booking in advance to celebrate the start of the year.

As always, the restaurant was very well-organised and the staff, though busy, were friendly and helpful. We know what to expect from Cote and were not disappointed: nice ambience, good food and service and reasonable prices.
