Since opening in February 2026, Wild Izakaya has already established itself as one of the City’s chicest new dining rooms for private events. From the team behind Goodman, Beast and Pinna, and led by executive chef Satoru Hashimoto (formerly of Koyn and Nobu), Wild Izakaya brings serious Japanese technique into a moody, design-led setting on Old Jewry. From fashion dinners to corporate meets or birthday bashes, this is a space for those with style.
Downstairs, the dedicated private dining room seats up to 10 guests around a large central table. The space has a darker, more atmospheric mood than the restaurant above: Japanese-inspired artwork and low lighting create a cocooned feel that works beautifully for client dinners, celebrations or milestone occasions. It’s intimate without feeling out the way.
For larger gatherings of up to 20 guests, group dining is centred around a long sharing table positioned beside the restaurant’s visible wine cellar. Surrounded by bottles and sculptural lighting, it’s a striking backdrop for team dinners or City celebrations. The open cellar display adds theatre, reinforcing the sense that drinks here matter just as much as the food.
Menus are structured around sushi, robata and izakaya-style plates that suit sharing. Nigiri and sashimi range from akami, toro and otoro to Japanese red bream and turbot, while maki rolls include spicy tuna and unagi with cucumber. Robata skewers such as wagyu kushi with kouji sweet soy and tsukune chicken meatballs bring depth and richness. Plates like rock shrimp tempura and nasu dengaku add texture, while hand rolls and gohan dishes round out the experience.
Drinks elevate the occasion further. The sake list is extensive and categorised by flavour profile, with rare bottles alongside more accessible pours. The wine list highlights Japanese winemakers globally, and cocktails such as the Izakaya Martini (Belvedere vodka, Iichiko sochu, Kenbishi sake) and Muscat Pisco Sour keep things lively.
