The Griffin, a stylish bistro and club in Amersham, certainly knows a thing or two about hospitality - it's been welcoming guests since 1791. Set in a beautiful, period building in this picturesque market town's most historic quarter, the team have both sympathetically protected the architecture's charm, while adding contemporary design nods that make this one of the most fashionable places to eat, drink and get together, thanks to their private dining spaces.
The team at The Griffin are well equipped to welcome private dining guests, offering packages for both coporate events and parties, such as birthdays, anniversaries and even wedding breakfasts. Their private and customisable events space is called The Assembly Room and was renovated in 2023 with a fabulous new look and faciliities. Here, you can host up to 75 people for both seated dining and cocktails and canapes.
In terms of what you need to know about booking, there's no hire free for The Assembly Room, just a minimum spend, which makes things that much easier. The team are helpful and versatile for your needs, happy to draw up a bespoke plan for your event. If you'd like to bring your own cake, for example, the kitchen will happily slice and serve for you at no extra cost. Other helpful details include last orders at midnight, that there is on-site parking and that, usually, you can access the space to decorate from 11am.
While you can discuss catering options, there are a few sample menus available to view already. For example, across canapes think flavour combinations such as potato rosti topped with Baron Bigod Brie and truffle honey dresses, as well as cod cheek tempura with lemon and parsley mayonnaise, and beef rib scrumpet with mustard mayonnaise. If booking a corporate event, you can opt in for breakfast and lunch, either a light bite with pastries, sandwiches or afternoon tea.
