A beloved fixture of Frederick Street in Edinburgh, Ricks - formerly known as Rabble - is the perfect spot for stylish, relaxed private dining occasions, birthdays and corporate gatherings alike.
Part boutique hotel, part lively restaurant and bar, Ricks feels equally suited to intimate celebrations and larger social occasions, while the venue’s energetic atmosphere ensures events never feel overly formal.
The Courtyard is the heated, glass-roofed centrepiece of Ricks’ private dining offering. By day, natural light pours through the roof; after dark, pleated lamps on timber tables and red fabric drapes slung beneath the glass give the room a low, amber glow. Exposed stone walls, tan leather banquettes and a black-and-white mosaic floor complete the picture. It suits birthday dinners, drinks receptions and networking events, and groups who need more space can book other areas of the venue, up to a full takeover built around their plans.
Meanwhile, Ricks’ menus are fantastic for large occasions as they have something for everyone. There’s a focus on approachable, flavour-led cooking that feels familiar, taking influence from all over the globe. Group menus are available for private occasions, streamlining the ordering process: dishes include Serrano ham and Manchego croquetas with saffron aioli; pea risotto; Scottish steak burger with smoked cheddar rarebit; and sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.
Ricks also offers a menu of canapes and smaller bar bites to choose from, which perfectly suit more informal occasions, drinks parties and networking mixers.
The drinks offering is equally impressive, with bespoke cocktail packages and interactive cocktail masterclasses available for those looking to add a memorable touch to their event. Whether it’s a sophisticated drinks reception or a lively social gathering, Ricks’ expert team can help craft a tailored experience from start to finish.
