As far as rooftop restaurants go, Plateau has got to be one of the coolest in London. Located at the top of Canada Place in Canary Wharf, guests have the option to dine indoors in the main restaurant area, or outside on the heated alfresco terrace. Serving contemporary French cuisine and an expertly curated wine and cocktail list, this smart restaurant is a top choice for formal or informal dinners.
Whether you’re planning a private dining event large or small, Plateau offers the space and options to cater for almost any type of event. There are two dedicated private dining rooms, the Art Room and the Wine Room. The Wine Room is connected to the main restaurant and can accommodate a large seated group of 24 people. Here, you’ll find the ‘wall of wine’ which spans the length of the room, as well as floor-to-ceiling windows, which can be shut for full privacy or left open for a buzzy atmosphere.
The Art Room is the second private dining room and boasts a huge Klimt canvas on the wall, perfect for starting conversation with clients or friends. Glass doors offer full views of the restaurant, yet still with the privacy of being slightly set apart from the main room. This room holds up to 16 people seated around a large oval table and would be a great location for private events, meetings, work lunches and birthday celebrations. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and canape options can all be hosted within the private dining rooms at Plateau.
There are multiple other private hire options that include use of the outdoor terraces, or even the entire venue for blowout dinners. Examples of dishes on the French-inspired menu include leek and potato velouté with crispy clarence court egg and aged comté, grilled Troncon of turbot with panache of baby vegetables and lobster hollandaise, and dark chocolate delice with mandarin sorbet.
