Luso is a modern Portuguese restaurant on Charlotte Street in Fitzrovia, offering a contemporary interpretation Iberian Atlantic flavours. Taking over the former Lisboeta site, Luso presents a more relaxed yet refined approach to modern Portuguese cuisine. Luso features a variety of versatile spaces suitable for private and semi-private hire, making it ideal for a wide range of private and corporate dining occasions.
The main dining room, located on the first floor, is a bright and welcoming space accommodating up to 60 guests, ideal for larger gatherings. For more intimate occasions, Luso offers a semi-private dining room on the same level, catering to groups of 15 to 30. The ground floor can be configured for banquet-style dining, perfect for formal corporate events, while the first floor lends itself to more relaxed, sociable affairs.
For truly private dining, The Adega is a charming, Mediterranean-style room seating up to 12 guests. Centred around a large communal table and overlooking a private wine cellar, it evokes the warmth and intimacy of a traditional Portuguese homestead kitchen.
The kitchen delivers a broad, exciting exploration of Portuguese gastronomy, with a particular emphasis on seafood. There are a couple of seasonal sharing menus available for private groups, complemented by tailored wine pairings from Luso’s in-house sommeliers.
The menu draws inspiration from Portugal’s rich culinary traditions, as well as neighbouring regions such as Andalusia, the Basque Country, and Galicia. A selection of sourdough, Iberico ham and homemade fish pate are the perfect pre-dinner nibbles, with the likes of sauteed squid and wild Iberian garlic prawns to start. Signature dishes include salt-baked wild sea bass, and oven-roasted suckling pig (Leitão), which comes with signature glassy skin. Desserts pay homage to Portuguese classics, featuring almond-rich Tocinho do Céu, chocolate mousse with olive oil and flor de sal, and chilled baked pineapple pudding.
