Launceston Place is part of the D&D London group and is located in Kensington, just moments away from Hyde Park. The interiors are supremely elegant throughout and the private dining room is no different. This sleek space holds up to 12 people seated around a single oval table, so is best suited for intimate gatherings – perhaps a corporate lunch or extra-special birthday dinner. There is a huge crystal chandelier suspended above the dining table, while a fireplace and cool grey panelled walls feel grown-up in style.
A private dining experience here is curated in the style of a chef’s table, allowing guests to get up close and personal to the making of the dishes. The room is situated in close proximity to the kitchen, with guests being served by the chefs themselves (if they choose the chef’s table experience). It‘s designed to be an interactive and unique evening and a great option if you’re in the midst of proper foodies.
Head chef Ben Murphy will create a bespoke menu suited to the occasion on the night, while an award-winning sommelier is also on hand in the evening to advise you on the perfect pairing with each dish. It’s a culinary delight from start to finish.
For slightly larger parties, the main restaurant can be split into two interconnected rooms which can be booked for partial hire of up to 22 guests. This works well for corporate events, such as client dinners, with guaranteed impressive food, service and surrounds.
On the food front, expect dishes that celebrate great British ingredients with European influences. There are a la carte and tasting menus available, which feature the likes of ‘Egg and Soldiers’ (fois gras, sourdough, pepper), venison with BBQ aubergine, miso and peppercorn and celeriac with mint, pecorino and truffle. There is also a dedicated Taittinger menu and generous wine list, so you'll be spoilt for choice when it comes to choosing.
