Nestled in the north Cotswolds, just outside Chipping Campden, HYLL is a stylish boutique hotel designed to offer guests a relaxing and comfortable home-away-from-home. Set in a carefully restored 17th-century manor house surrounded by 60 acres of meadow, woodland and sweeping hills, the Grade II-listed estate offers an understated yet quietly luxurious backdrop for intimate private dining and special occasions.
Interiors, designed by Manchester studio YOUTH, balance historic character with contemporary touches: hand-finished plaster, Cotswold stone and weathered timber are complemented by uncluttered bedrooms and open views. This same sense of simplicity runs through the restaurant, led by chef Mark Coleman, where menus are built around seasonal produce from nearby farms, mills and distilleries. Dishes are unfussy but deeply flavourful, designed to let the quality of local ingredients shine. Examples of dishes on the menu at the time of writing include Devon scallops with hazelnut butter, fresh peas and watercress cream, and lamb with cannellini beans, salsa verde and charred broccoli.
For private dining, HYLL offers flexible options within the manor house itself. Guests might take over part of the low-key restaurant, gather in a cosy lounge, or host a celebration in one of the characterful adjoining spaces. Whether it’s a family lunch, a milestone dinner, or a quiet corporate gathering, the team works closely with hosts to create a warm, personal experience, pairing thoughtful food with the hotel’s easygoing rhythm of hospitality.
The estate’s setting offers a beautiful backdrop to any occasion. Guests can wander through fields and woodland before sitting down to eat, or enjoy an aperitif on the terrace with long views stretching to the Malverns.
HYLL will also expand its private dining and events offering with a new stone-and-timber events barn in 2026, seating up to 150 and designed to frame panoramic views of the surrounding hills.
