Set on a pristine 150-acre estate near Lechlade, Thyme offers refined countryside dining in a setting where history, nature and exceptional food come together. This contemporary British brasserie celebrates seasonal cooking, offering a range of beautiful spaces for private dining - from intimate gatherings with friends and family to elegant dinners for colleagues and clients.
Guests can choose from several characterful rooms across the estate, each with its own atmosphere. The Ox Barn, a striking, architecturally impressive space with an open kitchen, allows diners to watch the chefs at work while enjoying the warm glow of industrial lighting and soft, natural textures. For something more secluded, the Home Kitchen spills out into the olive garden, blending indoor comfort with outdoor charm. The Swan’s Garden Room also offers a cosy backdrop for more relaxed occasions.
The estate’s jewel is the 16th-century Tithe Barn, a magical room filled with candlelight, stone walls and wooden beams. It offers complete flexibility for events of different sizes, catering for private dinners from intimate groups to larger celebrations of up to 60 guests when exclusivity of the estate is taken.
Food is rooted in the land itself. Chef Director Charlie Hibbert and his team work in harmony with Thyme’s gardeners, drawing inspiration from the kitchen garden and surrounding meadows. Expect modern British countryside fare crafted with impeccable seasonal produce - from braised chickpeas with escarole to beef and peppercorn ragu, almond and lemon cannelloni and beautifully considered desserts like lemon cream puffs.
Guests can also enjoy creative cocktails like their quince martini, alongside a thoughtful wine list. With bedrooms on site, Thyme makes it easy for private dining events to flow into a relaxed overnight stay.
