Maximalists, listen up; we might have found your perfect restaurant, right in the heart of Covent Garden. If you love colourful interior design and planning a special event, you'll want a venue that packs a design punch. Well, meet Cinnamon Bazaar Covent Garden, the central London counterpart to the Richmond branch, this stunning space is happily available for private dining.
When you first enter of the ground floor, we think you and your guests will be blown away by the central dining space, decorated with a canopy of red-hued fabrics which seem to float overhead. While this is a gorgeous spot for lunch or dinner, if you'd like an exclusive use space to enjoy all to yourself, head upstairs to the Khari Baoli private dining room on the first floor, complete with its very own bar.
The Khari Baoli private dining room is named after Delhi’s ancient spice bazaar which the founders describe as an exciting, inspiring place, filled with charismatic traders and rooted in centuries of tradition. Here, between 12 and 35 guests can be hosted and enjoy the large windows, high ceilings and beautiful design details, like the elephant-adorned bar or extra large artworks on the walls.
If your group is smaller - say 4-10 people - and you're not looking for a private space, ask to be accommodated in the main restaurant.
To make planning your event a little easier, the team have put together a set group menu which starts with the restaurant's signature samosa chaat served with a Punjabi vegetable samosa, curried white peas and tangy tamarind chutney. This is followed by mains of either jungle chicken curry with chicken leg, fresh fenugreek and pilau rice, or Jaipur-style okra poppadum curry, and sides for the table such as house black dal and a bread selection.
Finally, those with a sweet tooth will love the carrot and ginger toffee pudding with banana ice cream. Plus, there's the option to kick things off with a Mr Lyan cocktail, which will really impress your guests.
Sister operation in Richmond (opposite the station) offers first-rate group dining opportunities and a similar vibe, too.
