Bazaars come alive at Christmas, and it’s no different with this Covent Garden jewel inspired by a traditional Indian bazaar. On a gloomy winter’s day the restaurant comes alive with its vibrant decor and bustling atmosphere, not to mention the bright, delicious flavours of the food. Prices that don’t break the bank are another plus.
At Christmas the first floor private dining room, called Khari Boali, is understandably popular for sit-down lunches and dinners, as well as evening receptions, where award-winning canapés and bowl food dovetail with masterful cocktails and a good range of beer, wine and other victuals.
SquareMeal readers rave about the food here which delivers delicious spins on all manner of different chaat dishes, as well as first-rate chicken, lamb, fish and seafood. There are spins on the best of modern Indian classics, too, such as rogan josh shepherd’s pie, Indo-Chinese chicken wings and double-cooked pork belly.
Staff are efficient, friendly and as attentive as you desire.
