Following the annoucement of the S.Pellegrino World’s 50 Best Restaurants, and the news that Rene Redzepi's Copenhagen restaurant Noma has claimed top spot, charity partner Action Against Hunger is
set to auction off exclusive meals at some of the listed restaurants, including a 12-course meal at Noma itself. Many of the meals will include extras such as private kitchen tours, bespoke tasting
menus and signed cookbooks, with all funds raised going towards Action Against Hunger’s life-saving programmes worldwide, such as helping victims of the recent Haiti earthquake.
As well as the meal at Noma, items for auction include a meal for two at Arzak in San Sebastian, with a tour of its kitchen, laboratory and cellar; an eight-course meal with matched wines at Le
Quartier Francais in Franschhoek, South Africa; and a bespoke tasting menu with matched wines at Hibiscus in London.
The first meals, from Hibiscus and St John, were listed on ebay.co.uk on Monday 27 April, and will be followed by new listings every day for the following week, grouped by country. Each auction
will last 10 days. To bid, visit http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/actionagainsthungeruk from 27 April 2010.
