Buzzy Soho favourite Dehesa will be hosting a series of monthly tasting events in its private dining room. These informal
evenings, for up to 13 guests, will be presented by Becky McKevitt, the sommelier for Dehesa and sister restaurant Salt Yard. Kicking off at 7pm, each event lasts approximately two hours.
A Tasting of Unpronounceable Grape Varieties
Tuesday 2 June (£35pp)
We’ve all done it, we go into a bar or restaurant and order what we know to be uncompromising and what we can confidently pronounce. But what happens when we venture into unfamiliar territory? This
evening is about exploring wines made from grapes that don’t roll off the tongue or have as good a PR as Sauvignon Blanc or Cabernet Sauvignon. Becky and guests will delve into wines made from
grapes such as Treixadura, Godello, Xarel-lo, Fogoneu and Gewurztraminer. Accompanied by charcuterie and cheese.
Sicily in Spring
Monday 29 June (£35pp)
A celebration of this beautiful island in the warmth of spring. Examples such as aromatic Zibbibo, biodynamic wine aged in terracotta amphora, and a Marsala the way it was before the Brits had
their way. Inspired appetisers to match will be created by Dehesa’s chef Brent Loam, who has a huge passion for Italian food.
