Street food and night markets are becoming an increasingly popular London pastime, so this September, make time in your diary for the sixth annual Malaysia Night, an evening of Malaysian food, live cooking demonstrations and traditional entertainment that brings the best of the country to life through a pop-up market in Trafalgar Square.
Some of the UK’s best Malaysian restaurant and street food stalls will be out in force throughout the day to tempt the 60,000 expected visitors. For less than £5 a pop, you can sample delectable dishes including penang assam laksa, a spicy-sour fish noodle soup, and mee rebus, a shrimp and sweet potato curry which works particularly well with satay. Fans of Malaysian cuisine can pick up the raw ingredients needed to recreate these dishes at home, alongside top tips from the experts.
This event takes place on Friday 18 September, from midday to 10pm. Entry is free.
