The Savoy’s Beaufort Bar is hosting a fully immersive tasting experience that investigates how memory and nostalgia affect your perceptions.
Working in partnership with the glamorous bar’s head bartender Chris Moore, Grey Goose’s drinks experts have created a series of taste experiments designed to unlock people’s perceptions of smell
The event will kick off with a canapé-and-cocktail reception, where guests will sip on Grey Goose Le Fizz – a combination of Grey Goose vodka, fresh lime juice, elderflower cordial and soda water.
Moore will then talk tasters through the key people who have influenced our tastes over the centuries, and give guests an insight into his own career, before conducting a series of taste
experiments that play on the senses to show how strongly taste is affected by memory.
The Savoy’s mixologists will then lead a hands-on cocktail masterclass, where guests will have the opportunity to design their own Grey Goose cocktail during a one-on-one consultation with Moore
and taste expert Joe McCanta (drinks consultant and brand ambassador for Grey Goose). All guests will leave with their personalised recipe so that they can recreate the cocktail at home.
The Savoy’s Taste by Appointment event takes place on Sunday 17 June from 3-6pm. Tickets cost £75, with 25% of the ticket price donated to the Elton John Aids Foundation.
