On 7 November, The Savoy hotel is hosting a unique charity evening that mixes art and top-quality food in order to raise money for PAC (Pre- and Post-adoption Advice and Counselling).
Four top UK chefs, including Heston Blumenthal and Jason Atherton, will create a menu for the event, which celebrates 25 years of PAC. Dishes will include Blumenthal’s much-celebrated meat fruit
from his Knightsbridge restaurant Dinner by Heston at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, as well as Tarleton pigeon Wellington with sweet-and-sour turnip, and loin of roe deer with beetroot and smoked
beef marrow. For dessert, enjoy peanut-butter-and-jam sandwich with sheep’s-milk jam, blood-orange granita and sangria mousse.
After the meal, Lord Dalmeny, deputy chairman of Sotheby’s auction house, will conduct an auction of artwork by artists including Haroon Mirza, Gordon Cheung, Maggi Hambling, and many more, as well
as some who have had first-hand experience of adoption.
In addition, a silent auction will be held. Prizes include an hour-long private flower-arranging class for two with Shane Connolly, florist to HRH Prince of Wales; a seven-night stay in Saint Lucia
at Cap Maison; a day at Cheltenham Racecourse for two; dinner with Tom Parker Bowles; the opportunity to accompany The Observer’s restaurant critic Jay Rayner on one of his reviews; and many
Tickets cost £250. For more information or to book tickets, visit the PAC website or call 020 7284 0555.
