From 20 November-4 December 2009, Royal China Club on Baker Street is holding free afternoon Chinese tea
appreciation lessons with the renowned Hong Kong tea master, Shek Kwai Sim. With 20 years of experience, Shek Kwai Sim is exceptionally well-versed on the Chinese tea culture and the nutrients that
each tea provides.
Guests can learn about the subtle variations between the different Chinese teas, the teas that pair well with certain foods and the ingredients which most improve health. Teas sampled by guests
will include flower-scented varieties such as osmanthus and jasmine fairy, green teas from West Lake Longjing and Taiping, and others such as Wuyi roukwei and dangui oolong. Alongside the tea
lesson, guests will enjoy a selection of Chinese pastries.
The tea master will teach 12 people and these spaces need to be booked in advance. To book, call 020 7486 3898. The tea lessons start at 3pm and finish at 4.30pm.
