Manchester’s dining scene has been on fire since Simon Rogan took the helm of The Midland Hotel back in 2013. Following the success of last year's Chef Week at The French, Rogan is at it again, this time in aid of Hospitality Action, a charity founded to help those in need in the UK hospitality industry.
The French restaurant at The Midland will play host to four chefs from Rogan’s other restaurants, which include two-Michelin-starred L’Enclume and star-studded London flagship Fera at Claridge’s. For one night only, each chef will showcase his style of cooking with a specially prepared menu that reflects the cuisine at his particular restaurant; Rogan himself will also take to the stoves on Wednesday 8. The full schedule will be:
Tuesday 7 June – Tom Barnes, L’Enclume (Cartmel, Cumbria)
Wednesday 8 June – Simon Rogan
Thursday 9 June – Adam Reid, The French (Manchester)
Friday 10 June – Dan Cox, Fera at Claridge’s (Mayfair, London)
Saturday 11 June – Marcus Noak (Umbel Restaurant Group)
This event takes place from 7-11 June, kicking off with Tom Barnes from L’Enclume. The set menu by each chef costs £100, or £160 including wines. To book, call 0161 932 4198, or visit The French’s reservations page.
