What better way to celebrate the return of the Olympic Games than enjoying food from the country that invented the games? Cafe Corfu is hosting four nights of ancient Greek cuisine, where proceeds
will be donated to Team GB in support of British athletes going to Athens. The menu will take you back more than 2600 years, featuring dishes served during the Olympic banquets of the Ancient
Games. Executive chef, Dennis Marinakis has recreated these dishes, but says: ‘We try to keep the recipes as authentic as possible, but recognize that certain dishes are now taboo. Stuffed peacock
with sparrow tongue, anyone?’ Guests can tuck into delicious starters like salt meat ragout with white grape juice and honey glazed shrimps, followed by tasty mains such as baked sea bream and
roast lamb. There will also be entertainment with speakers from Cambridge University and the British Museum, as well as prizes – you might end up winning a free trip to the games!
