Chances are you drink quite a bit of wine from Chile these days. And quite right, too. The country’s wines deliver terrific bang for your buck across a broad spectrum of grape varieties and styles
– from cool climate Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinot Noir to spicy Syrah and Christmas-friendly Bordeaux blends. Chile has always been known for its silky fruit and soft tannins but these days
they have added elegance and complexity, too.
As a great start to the weekend on Friday 20 November, come and join Wines of Chile UK and 18 of the UK’s top high street, online and independent wine retailers to try and, if you choose, buy the
best of what Chile has to offer. With over 120 wines available to taste, you’ll find diversity as well as quality, not to mention plenty of experts to guide you. Plus, there'll be Latino music and
empanadas, and a chance to win a case of wine.
The event takes place in the banqueting hall at Glaziers Hall in London Bridge from 6-9pm. Tickets cost just £15 and a limited number of last minute tickets can be purchased on the door.
Although Chile has been making wine since the middle of the 16th century, its position as a leading New World wine producer has only emerged in the last 15 years. Besides Chile’s unique climate
(which has been called a ‘viticultural paradise’ by winemakers), new grape varieties and vines planted in cooler areas have ensured immense diversity and growing quality in Chilean wines.
