The Cinnamon Club Bar is the perfect spot in Westminster for pre or post-dinner cocktails, or to host an event in its own right. The space has been renovated by London designer Juilet Walmsley, taking inspiration from both British and Indian culture. The curved archways and intimate alcoves mimic Indian architecture, while the plush velvet banquettes add a touch of loucheness. Dotted around, you’ll find tropical plants and gold curtains, adding a finishing touch of exotic luxury. With just 36 covers, the bar is ideal for small, private events, and can host 45 standing guests for cocktail receptions.
With the revamp comes a new head mixologist: none other than Robin Honhold, previously of the world-famous Mr Lyan. As such, expect vibrant concoctions like the club bellini, which sees Belvedere ginger vodka paired with apricot puree, spiced rose and Prosecco, or the watermelon-laced red lady. Gin-lovers can enjoy a lime leaf Collins, vodka enthusiasts should look no further than the club dry martini with Sipsmith or Grey Goose. Aside from cocktails, you and your guests can enjoy a selection of champagnes and regional beers, as well as exotic mocktails for non-drinkers.
Of course, as with any establishment in the Cinnamon Collection, food is by no means an afterthought. To accompany your drinks, snack on house masala cashews, kadhai spiced olives and moutabal (burnt aubergine sesame dip with pickled vegetables). There are heartier options too, including chicken tikka and cheese naan, south Indian fried chicken and tempura shrimps with curry leaf and chilli mayonnaise. The Amritsari whitebait is also a must here, served with hot garlic sauce, as is the paneer ‘naanza’ - a house take on pizza with scrambled paneer and peppers.
