Moor Hall is a historic country house and estate in West Lancanshire, set in five acres of stunning gardens with views out across the lake, which is said to have once been a medieval moat. The Hall is a Grade II Listed building with origins that go back to the 13th century, but after a multi-million-pound renovation executed by owners husband-and-wife team Andy and Tracey Bell, it is now an award-winning restaurant and rooms.
Within the grounds also lies a rustic barn, available for private hire and perfect for a wedding, big birthday or corporate event. Originally, a Liverpool businessman’s carriages and horse's stable, this space has capacity for 75 guests for a standing reception to enjoy drinks and canapes, 50 seated and 45 if outside on the terrace.
The Barn also proudly holds a Michelin star and while you are welcome to speak to the team about your distinct needs, guests are routinely greeted with two glasses of English sparkling wine from the venue's wine partner Gusbourne, their appetites sated with an initial round of canapes, before moving on to a bespoke three-course menu. Over dinner, guests will be served another two glasses of wine, before finishing with teas, coffees and petit fours
Availability for the barn runs from Thursday to Sunday for lunch bookings, and Wednesday to Sunday for dinner bookings. Hiring the barn can also be combined with taking over the rest of the estate including the Moor Hall Restaurant, the seven bedrooms in the hall itself, the lounge bar and the beautiful grounds. This is a gorgeous option if, for example, planning a wedding or weekend retreat.
