Phenomenal JULY, 2026
Phenomenal!!!! Four of us dined at the chef’s bench in the pastry kitchen. The whole experience was amazing. The food was incredible and the staff were so friendly and informative. Probably the best dining experience we’ve ever had Don’t be put off by the location. The restaurant (with rooms) is like an oasis. Loved it.

Yes! An oasis of sophisticationJULY, 2026
Restaurant Sat Bains is an impressive dining experience with rooms in its own little oasis, an exquisite one at that. Dining here on account of a graduation ceremony nearby we knew the previous owner of the building nearly 30 years past. We selected a time, considered the menu options and opted for the Prelude menu which has nine courses (tasting menu). It was nine but had a couple of additions :) Met at the door my Amanda Bains we then proceeded to the garden for Champagne where we met Sat Bains himself for a chat before heading in for the feast of skilled artisans at work. We chose the mid price wine pairings delivered with precise notes from the sommelier. Head chef John Freeman appeared and delivered the scallop dish explaining a little about this. Half way through service there was a tiny pizza cook in the garden greenhouse along with a special Champagne. Later after the courses nearly end we were invited into the kitchen for a behind the scenes and yes, there is a chefs table if you wish to book specifically. To round the evening off for those who partake there is a cigar outbuilding specially built away from diners. Overall, a brilliant evening handled throughout by restaurant manager Alex Partridge.

The Chefs table - an experience not to be missedMAY, 2026
The chefs table is a must! Sat and his team are incredible and we were so well looked after. Each course was delicious and paired perfectly with the wine flight. We loved the relaxed nature and humour. Generous portions. An experience not to be missed!
