From brunch to dinner to drinks in the evening, Lulu Wild in Birmingham offers inventive Chinese cuisine inspired by culture and creativity. Offering a dining experience that’s bound to be like nothing you’ve experienced before, an exclusive booking here will take you and your guests on a journey of the senses, via artistic plates and immersive décor. Located upstairs from the main restaurant is a mesmerising area available for private hire, which reflects the dark and mysterious interiors throughout. A jungle of foliage lines the ceiling while velvet chairs, hanging golden chandeliers and hues of red, gold and burnt orange cover every surface. The space holds up to 70 people, standing, and is an exciting space to host drinks receptions, sit-down dinners and many other celebatory occasions.
Dishes on the menu range from sharing platters to noodles, salads, seafood, chicken, meat and small eats. Start with one of its dim sum platters (classic, supreme, vegetarian or pan-fried) which includes a mix of dumplings, from scallop and prawn shui mai to wild mushroom and chicken and vegetable. You can still order all your favourites, such as egg fried rice, Singapore noodles and bang bang chicken salad, while more extravagant dishes include black cod with miso, mirin, asparagus and sake, or black truffle roast duck marinated for 24 hours and served with shimeji mushrooms.
The drinks list is another journey into new flavours, specifically via its signature cocktails. Look out for the Ginger Mojito (Brugal Blanco Rum, Ginger, Lime, Mint) and the Paloma (Olmecca Atlos Tequila, Grapefruit, Agave). Other fruity concoctions await on its Chinese Temple mocktail list, too, featuring creations such as Mekong Mist (peach, strawberry, grapefruit) and Summer Palace (kiwi, green apple, citrus). There are also plenty of wines and sparkling to choose from, if you’re looking for a perfect pairing to your meal.
