Hi Amelia,   Thanks so much for checking in. I was planning to email today to say thank you to you, Jo and Vera for all your help.    Everything went smoothly and everyone had a great time. Thank goodness the weather was lovely and with the extra air con unit, the conservatory temperature was actually totally fine! :)    I also wanted to add that the site manager as well as every single member of staff we came across were all so lovely and could not have been more helpful and this was also mentioned by a number of guests too.    Thanks again. We will certainly be recommending Essendon to others and hopefully we’ll be back soon ourselves too!

Heartfelt Thanks for Making Our Event So Special! Please accept my apologies for the delay in sending my feedback. I wanted to ensure I shared the detailed positive feedback I received following our event. From the initial booking right through to the event itself, every member of the team was attentive, diligent, and incredibly accommodating. Communication was always clear, prompt, and easy to understand, and every request we made was carefully considered and, where possible, delivered. This made the entire planning process feel stress-free and enjoyable. On the day of the event, the set-up team were fantastic. Despite the exceptionally hot weather and the fact that much of our preparation had to be completed on the morning itself, everyone was so helpful and supportive. A special thank you to the bar and catering teams, who were so welcoming and kind—particularly when they kindly stored our cakes in the catering fridge to keep them cool. The accommodation was another highlight. My family, who had travelled from the North, were delighted to be staying so close to the venue after such a long journey. They thoroughly enjoyed their stay, and the breakfast the following morning received glowing reviews from everyone. The event itself exceeded all of our expectations. Jason and the entire team were simply outstanding—attentive, approachable, and always on hand to ensure everything ran seamlessly. Even when I made a slight change to the order of events halfway through the evening, nothing seemed too much trouble. Their flexibility, professionalism, and calm approach made all the difference, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment. We know they were working hard throughout the evening, but we hope they enjoyed being part of our celebration as much as we enjoyed hosting it there. The surprise element at the beginning of the evening was indeed a success! The food was absolutely amazing and received countless compliments from our guests. The quality, presentation, and flavour were exceptional, and the Jamaican-inspired menu was a real highlight. I would happily choose it again for a future event. We were originally referred to your venue by a family friend, and I can honestly say I would not hesitate to recommend you to others. Thank you for helping to make our celebration such a memorable and wonderful occasion. We look forward to returning in the future for another special event. We were able to relax and truly enjoy celebrating with our family and friends, knowing that everything was being taken care of so thoughtfully behind the scenes. A special thank you for being so attentive throughout the day. Your team was always on hand whenever needed, ensuring that everything ran smoothly and that both we and our guests felt welcomed and looked after. What can I say? The two ELSA days last week were probably the best yet. Many students arrived feeling understandably nervous and unsure of themselves. Within minutes, however, they were stepping outside their comfort zones and taking on their very first challenge, interviewing several volunteers they had never met before. It was perhaps not something many of them would have imagined themselves doing, or felt prepared to do, when they first arrived that morning. From the moment they stepped through the Club doors they were made to feel welcome. Your reception team, and everyone they encountered immediately put them at ease. Teachers repeatedly commented on how friendly, welcoming, organised, clean and simply stunning the venue was. The Barn and the wider club create an environment that makes people genuinely want to be there. I think you may even gain some additional business from some of the teachers and volunteers! Between you and me, there were a few conversations about weddings and recommendations for future events. As always, everything was organised to the highest standard. We had significantly larger numbers this time, yet that never deterred you from saying yes and embracing the challenge. We also had the added complication of the rain on Wednesday bringing some of the bricklaying dust indoors. I say “some”, there was quite a lot, and for that I sincerely apologise. I know Kieran saw it too, and I genuinely believe we did everything possible with mats and preventative measures. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please pass on our thanks to the entire team. I know it was Jason on Wednesday, who I believe was the Duty Manager. I think it may have been Adam on Monday, although I apologise if I have that wrong. Also, Ted, was exceptional, friendly and very willing to make sure everything was as it should be. What I do know is that you have an incredible team at Essendon. Whether they are having a challenging day behind the scenes or not, they never show it. Every member of staff was professional, welcoming and helpful throughout. Everyone who attended, myself included, cannot thank you enough. They were two truly exceptional days, and we very much hope you will have us back.
