Mayfair restaurant China Tang at The Dorchester Hotel celebrates authentic Cantonese cuisine and is certainly one of the most lavish places in London to enjoy a selection of deeply comforting Chinese favourites. With a series of dedicated group menus and multiple luxuriously-decorated private spaces, China Tang is experienced at hosting a wealth of special events, from intimate dinners to birthdays and business meetings.
Its main private spaces are the Ping, Pang and Pong rooms which can be hired separately or in conjunction with one another depending on the size of your event. If hired separately, Pang and Pong can cater for up to 18 people at a time while Ping is slightly larger with a capacity of 22 guests. The latter also offers flexibility with the option to seat guests around one large table or two smaller ones. The interiors are inspired by pre-war Shanghai with each private room boasting cosy low-level lighting, floral upholstered seating, patterned carpets and smart white tablecloths which gives the spaces a sophisticated feel.
For larger groups, Ping and Pang can be hired for parties of up to 40 people, while hire of all three rooms offers event space for 60 guests, perfect for wedding receptions or corporate dinners.
To complement the variety of dining options, event-bookers can choose from a selection of private dining group menus available for either lunch or dinner. These vary in length and price depending on the style of occasion you’re planning, but you can expect dishes such as classic steamed prawns with garlic, sweet and sour pork, peking duck, stuffed crab shell, and a dim sum selection. Do note that vegetarian menus are available, too.
To drink, a list of bespoke and exciting cocktails are perfect for a pre-meal tipple, while an extensive list of wines and champagnes is guaranteed to appeal to everyone at the table.
