Chapel Chophouse & Bar brings a touch of theatre to venue hire in Milton Keynes, taking over a historic 17th-century chapel in Stony Stratford and reworking it as a contemporary steakhouse and bar. The concept deliberately plays old against new: period architecture on one side, luxurious booth seating, a dramatic raised bar, live music and immersive entertainment on the other.
The building works wonderfully for private events because it already has a natural sense of occasion. The set up means that the bar can anchor arrivals, cocktails and post-dinner drinks, with signature serves including the Chapel Old Fashioned with bourbon and oak smoke, the Stained Glass Sour with gin, elderflower and lemon, and the Velvet Communion, which combines Cognac, raspberry liqueur, citrus and Champagne. The wider drinks list runs from Prosecco and English sparkling rosé to Bollinger, Laurent-Perrier and Dom Pérignon, alongside an extensive selection of reds and whites.
Food is planned perfectly for groups. Starters range from goat’s cheese and beetroot bonbons to steak bites on sourdough, slow-braised beef on toast and salt-and-pepper calamari. Chophouse favourites include fire-grilled chicken, a Chapel cheeseburger topped with pulled beef, Chapel fish and chips, and plant-based dishes such as fire-roasted aubergine or chargrilled cauliflower steak. For sharing, the Chapel Board brings together grilled chicken breast, sirloin, ribeye, fillet and steak bites, while larger cuts include bone-in sirloin, prime rib, T-bone, porterhouse, tomahawk and chateaubriand, all dry-aged for 25 to 35 days.
At Chapel Chophouse & Bar, entertainment is a big part of what makes the vibe here, something you could utilise for your own event. For example, one of the restaurant's own events included live musicians and even fire eaters, for an incredible, all-out spectacle. Fancy creating something like this for your private event? The team can put you in touch with brilliant suppliers and entertainers to make this one to remember.
