Christmas at Chapel Chophouse & Bar in Milton Keynes comes with a heady dose of drama, set inside a historic 17th-century chapel in Stony Stratford. The venue mixes original character with luxurious booth seating, a striking raised bar and a contemporary steakhouse feel, making it a natural fit for festive dinners, work parties and celebratory nights out that want a little more theatre than the usual function room.
The bar is a big part of the experience, with craft cocktails, fine wines and Champagne available before dinner or later in the evening, while live music and immersive entertainment help push the night beyond a standard sit-down meal. The setting itself does plenty of the heavy lifting too: high-impact architecture, warm lighting and a sense of occasion that feels especially right at Christmas.
Especially for the festive season, the team at Chapel Chophouse & Bar have devised a delicious, flavour-packed menu across five courses, kicking off with a welcome drink and warm house-baked bread with whipped salted butter and roasted garlic butter. Starters are fabulously indulgent with dishes like duck liver parfait with red cherry preserve and toasted brioche, roasted chestnut and parsnip soup with focaccia, pan-seared scallops with pea purée and smoked beef, or slow-braised beef on sourdough with pickled onion, chilli and barbecue jus.
For mains, steak lovers can choose from ribeye, fillet, sirloin, bavette or D-rump, all chargrilled to order. The Chapel Christmas Roast brings together roast beef, roast turkey and herb-roasted venison saddle with Yorkshire pudding, beef-dripping roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables, sausages in blankets, stuffing and bone gravy. There is also pan-roasted stone bass with fondant potato and beurre blanc, plus a vegan fire-roasted aubergine with smoked butternut squash purée, chickpeas and pomegranate. Meanwhile, sides include triple-cooked chips, cauliflower cheese, bone marrow mash and charred hispi cabbage.
Finally, tuck into desserts like sticky toffee pudding cheesecake, warm triple chocolate fudge cake, crème brûlée or Chapel ice creams.
