Taking the name of the great Marcel Boulestin, this elegant St James’s brasserie is an update of the French chef’s eponymous Covent Garden restaurant. Menus follow the seasons – winter, for example, might bring roast pigeon, curly kale and lardons in a Madeira jus – and the wine list is regularly updated too. Chef is also happy to tailor make menus to meet more exacting requirements. The hidden courtyard is a revelation and the flexible private dining room is handsome, secluded and loaded with AV kit. If everyone’s standing, you can get 70 in there for a drinks reception. There are seated arrangements to suit groups from eight to 40.
The St James’s brasserie has a brand new breakfast menu for its private dining room. Starting at £25pp for a continental breakfast, the space can be booked for between eight and 40 guests.
