Permanently moored on the River Thames near Nine Elms, Battersea Barge is a converted Dutch barge that functions as a restaurant, bar and award-winning events space available for private hire. Spanning three spacious decks and with awesome riverside views of London, it’s a unique venue for various events, from weddings to birthdays, corporate events and receptions.
Able to host up to 150 guests with full boat hire, Battersea Barge offers a unique backdrop complete with stunning views of the City, the Shard, and Battersea Power Station. One of the most popular hire options is the indoor lower deck, which is well-suited to large parties and celebrations. This space can hold up to 100 people standing and, despite being inside, still offers views of the river through its window. With a dedicated stage area, audience space, bar, high ceilings and a projector, it’s well equipped to be adapted to the occasion at hand, and offers access to the rest of the boat if you’d like to hire extra spaces in conjunction with the lower deck. You can also play your own music through the PA system, or book a DJ, but do note that music must stop 20 minutes before closing time.
If you’re planning an event during the summer months, there are multiple alfresco spaces to choose from. The outdoor east deck (25+ guests) or terrace (30+ guests) can be hired separately or together, and offer flexible table and seating arrangements depending on whether you’re hosting a seated or standing event.
Do note that due to the residential nature of the surrounding area, the boat can be hired until 11pm Sunday to Thursday, and 12am Friday and Saturday (outdoor decks close at 11pm). Good news though – Battersea Barge also has a sister site a short distance away, Tamesis Dock, which is open until 1am, so you and your guests can always head there later on!
