Tequila Sunrise

Tequila Sunrise
4 mins preparation,

The Tequila Sunrise has been the training wheels for many a student mixologist, being a cinch to make and entertaining to look at into the bargain. It is vastly improved by juice of the freshly squeezed variety, and a good-quality grenadine such as Funkin or Monin. A reposado tequila is a tequila which has been aged in American or European oak for two to 12 months.

Ingredients

75ml freshly squeezed orange juice
50ml Reposado Tequila (aged for two to 12 months)
18.75ml grenadine

Method

1

Shake the orange juice and Tequila with ice

2

Strain into an ice-filled Collins glass

3

Then carefully pour in the grenadine, which will sink to the bottom and create ‘sunrise’

4

Garnish with an orange slice and a cherry
