Bloody Mary-Lou

Bloody Mary-Lou

Summer is not summer without a barbecue. Fact. So try this variation on the classic bloody mary which uses a smoky BBQ sauce instead of Worcestershire and bourbon instead of vodka, all of which gives it a richness that goes brilliantly with burnt pork chops. A tot of sherry will add an extra umami hit, too.

Ingredients

1 litre tomato juice
200ml bourbon
50ml smoky BBQ sauce/marinade
Juice of 1 lemon
Pinch of salt and pepper
4 spring onions

Method

1

Pour all the ingredients into an iced jug

2

Stir well

3

Use the spring onions as stirrers
