Wick Farm Bath

Wick Farm Bath is about as idyllic as it comes and so, if you're hosting an all-out Christmas party in rural Somerset, make sure you give this historic venue a look over. It started life as a 14th-century barn and today, its Medieval roots have been sympathetically and beautifully restored and renovated for an events space that holds the past and present hand-in-hand. 

While its location means being surrounded by stunning fields and countryside, it's actually just outside of Bath which means it's easy to get to and perfect for those living in the city or surrounding areas. There are four different spaces, each one with its own aesthetic and personality. The upper barn is the main space where the magic happens with long trestle tables for family-style dining, while the lower barn is home to the bar - and therefore very popular with party-goers! Bringing the outside and inside together, the marquee area offers cover come rain or shine, and then there's the pretty gardens - but they're less used in December, of course. 

Wick Farm Bath is owned and run by husband-and-wife team, Chris and Jess McCullagh. While the pair met in London, Jess grew up locally and had always secretly dreamed of running a venue just like this one and so when the opportunity to move back home, buy Wick Farm and start a business together presented itself, they jumped straight at the chance. Not that this industry is totally new to these two, though. In London, Jess ran her own events company and Chris has long worked with the church and with charities, often bringing people together. 

Jess and Chris can help you plan your event, starting with introductions to their catering partner Strawberry Field Catering, who are known for their outstanding quality and brilliant service. There's also options to add on an activity to your festive event, particularly popular for office dos. For example, Wick Farm's 37-acre grounds feature five versatile clay pigeon shooting stands which are geared to suit any skill level. And, don't worry, expert tuition is provided!
