Brighton is one of the UK's best beach destinations and who says you shouldn't make the most of that, just because it's December? If you're looking for a little sunshine in the winter, The Rum Kitchen is here to brighten your day - and Christmas party - with Caribbean cooking, cocktails and tunes. So, if you're organising a Christmas shindig for work chums, family or friends, bear in mind that The Rum Kitchen has private dining facilities, a feasting menu and even a cocktail making class to make your festive bash one you'll never forget.
While The Rum Kitchen Brighton has plenty of space in the main restaurant, you can take over the private dining space for a more exclusive feel. This colourful space boasts blue and orange tiled flooring, pretty chandeliers above and a long, wooden table in the centre. Banquet-style, this table is perfect for around 25 people seated, or you can host up to 80 for a more casual, cocktails and canapes vibe.
With such a large group, the team ask that you order the feasting menu which is served family style. This way, everyone gets a taste of the restaurant's iconic dishes. Start with saltfish fritters and fried prawns, moving on to signature jerk wings, boneless jerk chicken legs and grilled jerk pork belly. There's also lashings of rice and peas, mac and cheese, fries, plantain and Rum Kitchen slaw.
As mentioned, the team are passionate about cocktails and particularly rum (hence the name) so there's also a selection of over 100 rare rums to try from varying islands across the Caribbean. You can add a rum tasting to your booking, or even a cocktail class where you'll learn how to make three signature cocktails, while sipping on one of your own. Sounds like the perfect Christmas party activity to us!
