There are three main spaces within The Old Vic's Backstage building available for exclusive hire. The Event Space occupies the rooftop, flooded with natural light and framed by stunning skyline views, and holds up to 50 guests standing or 30 seated for lunch or dinner.
For a larger, more informal celebration, Backstage Cafe & Bar spans two levels, centred on a triple-height cafe and bar with a mezzanine Script Library floor above, offering a projecting balcony overlooking Waterloo Millennium Green. It can be hired as the Script Library alone or as the whole Backstage Cafe & Bar, with capacity for up to 80 guests seated or 180 standing.
For blowout festive celebrations, the Theatre Auditorium brings your party onto The Old Vic's historic main stage, with capacity for up to 80 seated or 400 standing.
Bespoke festive menus cover standing receptions, seated lunches and seated dinners. Standing packages offer three canapés and three bowls per person, while seated packages include a three-course meal with tea, coffee and mince pies. All packages come with a sparkling arrival drink, house wine, bottled beers and soft drinks, festive-themed decor, uplighters, cloakroom facilities, security and a dedicated event manager, with silk or fresh floral table arrangements for seated events.
A range of add-ons let hosts tailor the evening further, including upgrades to Champagne or cocktails on arrival, a premium wine selection, karaoke, a photobooth, a mirrored bar with a giant disco ball, bespoke illustrations or vinyl branding on the windows, poseur table florals and mistletoe, and extended hours until 2am.
