There is a range of function rooms available to hire including both large and small spaces. On arrival, guests are greeted in the lobby by an impressive staircase, before meandering through to the Assembly Room for a welcome drink and a chat with friends and colleagues. Dinner can be served in a number of rooms, but one of its most impressive is the Main Hall, an extravagant space able to host up to 300 guests seated, or 500 standing. The room is fully decorated with festive attire for your event, while a vast domed ceiling, fairytale balconies and an expansive stage make it a truly impressive location for a party. It can comfortably accommodate live music and entertainment too, thanks to its staging area and PA system.
If you’re planning a slightly smaller bash, then The Old Library can accommodate 80 for dinner and is a great option for a drink's reception, Christmas lunch or dinner. This traditional room offers timber ceilings and walnut wood panelling, perfect for cosy events. The Assembly Room is another beautiful, transportive space. Boasting oil paintings, a vast fireplace, wood panelling and large stained-glass windows, this space combines history with modern touches (think a sound system and screen). St Aldgate’s Room is its smallest space to hire for Christmas parties, with room for 30 seated guests. We recommend hiring this exquisite space for an intimate dinner with friends.
Catering is provided by Oxford Town Hall’s sole caterer Elegant Cuisine. They will work with you to create the perfect Christmas menu using locally sourced produce, whether that’s a three-course dinner or a relaxed buffet.
