For a Christmas party that swaps polite small talk for proper belly laughs, Monopoly Lifesized offers a festive alternative to the usual sit-down dinner and DJ combo. Set in central London, this immersive take on the world’s most famous board game gives end-of-year celebrations a sense of mischief - exactly what you and your colleagues have earned by the end of the year!
At Christmas, Monopoly Lifesized really comes into its own. Instead of standing around with a mulled wine wondering who to talk to, guests are thrown straight into the action. Groups are split into teams and step onto one of four giant Monopoly boards, each overseen by a “human token” who keeps the game moving and the energy high. Rolling the dice is only the beginning: to win properties and build houses, teams must complete hands-on challenges, puzzles and mini-games, working together to outsmart rivals and, inevitably, send someone to jail.
From a Christmas party perspective, the format works brilliantly. Games are played by four teams of up to six at a time, but the wider venue can host anything from small festive socials to full-scale office parties of up to 200 guests. Packages range from game-only bookings to options that include food and drinks in the Top Hat Bar and Restaurant, allowing the party to flow naturally from gameplay into post-match celebrations. For something bigger, full venue hire turns Monopoly Lifesized into a private playground for the night.
No doubt, post game you'll have worked up quite the appetite and the good news here is that the Top Hat Bar and Restaurant is also just as much fun. Flamboyant interiors include red velvet booths and a gold-accented bar, but come Christmastime and the team turn it into a winter wonderland, with baubles, decorations and trees, too. The menu is also Monopoly themed with dishes such as The Banker's Share - which includes a baked caembert for two - and the Roll With It, which sees classic sausage rolls updated with curry flavours and a side of chutney. Generally the menu picks out crowd-pleasers like burgers with skin-on chips, as well as British favourites, like beer-battered fish and chips, to ensure that there's something for everyone. But, for the festive season, there might be one or two surprises.
Christmas is a time known for being 'merry' and bright, so we think you'll enjoy the drinks menu aswell. There's an impressive list of creative cocktails on there, each one inspired by a different part of London or Monopoly feature.
