This Christmas, if you're still looking for the perfect venue to do some festive celebrating, 42 Holborn might just be the perfect fit. This newly-opened restaurant has a fantastic location in the heart of Holborn which really comes alive at Christmas-time. Just moments away from Covent Garden's giant tree and all the festivities of the piazza, you couldn't pick a better spot for a celebratory dinner.
The building feels ever-so-slightly 'A Christmas Carol', too. Built at the turn of the 20th century, this stunning piece of architecture was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens, known for some of central London's most beautiful buildings. Its period features still remain, including Grade II Listed Portland stone, complemented by a jewel-toned colour palette and sparkling chandeliers.
For Christmas, the team have created a special menu which offers a seasonal spin on classic Mediterranean flavours. If booking a full-out Christmas dinner for your friends, family or the whole office, there's a mix of two and three course options available. Kick things off with sourdough bread and whipped butter, before moving onto starters of either burrata with heritage tomatoes, green herb oil and fresh basil, or free range chicken liver pate, alongside truffled mushroom arancini.
For mains, there's the likes of 14 day aged Argentinian black Angus sirloin with peppercorn sauce, parmesan fries and side salad, as well as seabass fillet with Mediterranean salsa. And, for dessert enjoy choices like classic Christmas pudding with brandy cream or warm hazelnut and almond brownie with vanilla ice cream.
If you'd prefer a cocktail and canapes reception, the team can speak to you about the private spaces available to host your party exclusively, with a seperate canape menu available. Here, you'll find nearly 20 different ideas, across hot and cold options, for your guests to nibble on. We like the sound of the arancini with avocado foam and sea bass taco.
