Eight is a lucky number in Chinese, and this local Ealing eatery hopes to fulfil expectations with a monster 200-dish menu of Cantonese staples and well-known regional specialities. ‘Ping pong’ dumplings and other dim sum snippets are served all day, while the full repertoire brings together a handful of soups, crispy wraps and rolls, cold dishes (jellyfish and mooli salad, preserved duck egg with tofu) and a host of bigger plates ranging from ‘boiling hot pork’ with dried chillis to Peking-style baby chicken or steamed sea bass with ginger and spring onions. A new star attraction is the self-contained karaoke room equipped with the latest LED lights, surround-sound, touch monitors and 60,000 songs in different languages – so you can warble and feel lucky to your heart’s content.
