TEMPORARILY CLOSED. DUE TO REOPEN LATE 2021
Swirling majolica patterns, fan-shaped uplighters and zingy mandarin colour schemes ensure that the decor is as emphatically Spanish as the food and drink at this Lime Street outpost of the Barcelona mini-chain. Graze on tapas staples such as croquetas de jamón or tortilla española or move into new territory for the likes of empedrat – a salad of black-eyed beans, tuna and onions in white-wine vinaigrette. There are also big pans of paella valenciana to share, plus some lesser-known noodle specialities including the dramatic black ‘fideua negre' with squid. Much of the produce is sourced direct from suppliers in the home country – likewise the excellent, all-Spanish wine list, which has useful tasting notes, a decent selection of sherries and some interesting dessert sips, including an Ordonez Moscatel made an Austrian winemaker in the hills behind Malaga.
