When it opened in 1935, the Lansdowne was one of the first members clubs to admit men and women as equals. Today, its doors are open to non-members for weddings. Ceremonies take place in the Adam Room, beneath a magnificent chandelier. The Courtyard is a handsome spot for champagne receptions and photographs, before the party moves through to the Ballroom. Here, two minstrel galleries and a vaulted gold-leaf ceiling help make a memorable setting for breakfasts and evening receptions.
The elegant Grade II listed Ballroom can accommodate up to 150 guests for a civil ceremony and or/wedding reception. With it’s spectacular 24-carat gold leaf vaulted ceilings, ambient lighting and minstrel galleries, you could not wish for a more romantic setting for your special day. The Ballroom can be transformed after dinner so you can dance the night away with your guests.
